All our student houses are offered with Internet Access

There is a TV point and access to broadband in every bedroom. All bedrooms have at least FOUR 13amp sockets,

many have EIGHT 13amp sockets, 4 of which are by the TV & broadband outlets.

Current students find Broadband really useful. The cost is included in the rent so it is FREE for you to use.

Some houses have a wireless service, in which case we lend you a wireless adaptor (as part of the inventory). This plugs into a USB socket on your PC or MAC. The wireless service is encrypted and we supply you with the ‘key’ when you move in.

Other houses have a wired service, in which case there is a Network Socket in each bedroom. To connect , you will need a standard network ‘patch’ cable. This plugs into to network socket on the back of practically all modern laptops, PCs and MACs.

If your PC does not have a socket then you can get adaptors that fit into a USB socket, or into a PCMCIA socket or as a card on the motherboard. Suitable items can be easily and cheaply bought from PC World, Maplins (one is located at The Arches on Cheltenham Road) and many mail order companies. Cables are very cheap from www.toolstation.com with a shop opposite the BBC on Whiteladies Road)

Getting connected may sound a bit problematic, but we provide help for those that don’t have an expert amongst their housemates – and you will end up with a wonderful study and leisure aid for the year.
